The foundation was started to assist new missions and churches which may not be able to qualify for traditional loans.

With a thirty-five dollar gift in 1964 the foundation took its first steps. Two years later the foundation made its first loan in the amount of one thousand dollars. The recipient was The First Baptist Church of Battle Mountain. As of September 2024 the foundation's working capital exceeds three million dollars.

Support and growth of the foundation is unbelievable.

The foundation is operated by a board of directors that generously donate their time, travel, lodging and serve with integrity. Board members must be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church in Nevada and be a lay person.
